Job summary

Oak View Group in Ontario is seeking a Zamboni Operator to maintain ice surfaces and support arena operations during events. This role involves ice resurfacing, general maintenance, and coordinating with staff to ensure safety and efficiency.

The position requires a valid Ontario driver’s license, basic computer skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and holidays. You will contribute to a fast-paced, venue-wide effort to deliver high-quality events.

Qualifications

• High school or vocational diploma required.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of ice resurfacers and edgers; arena experience essential.
• A valid Ontario driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• ORFA-designated refrigerations credentials are assets.

Responsibilities

• Perform ice maintenance, including cleaning and resurfacing for hockey games and rentals.
• Respond to emergency situations and customer concerns as required.
• Maintain rink systems and dasher boards, nets, gates, and Plexiglas levels.
• Perform building equipment maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general construction tasks.
• Work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to Oak View Group policies and health and safety regulations.
• Assist in operating building systems to meet event and customer requirements.
• Assist with work performed by outside contractors on site.
• Document maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
• Support the operations department’s tasks and duties.
• Perform HVAC duties for concerts and events.
