Job summary

Senior Azure Integration Engineer – APIM / REST APIs / Azure Functions

Role Summary

The Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, securing, and supporting integrations across enterprise applications, cloud platforms, mobile applications, data platforms, and GenAI solutions. The role will focus heavily on API development, API Management (APIM), REST API integrations, middleware platforms, and enterprise integration patterns to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable connectivity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

API Design & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and integration services.
• Define API contracts, specifications, and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Develop reusable APIs and microservices to support enterprise applications.
• Implement API versioning, throttling, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

API Management (APIM)

• Configure and manage Azure API Management (APIM).
• Publish, secure, monitor, and govern enterprise APIs.
• Implement API policies for authentication, authorization, rate limiting, logging, and transformation.
• Collaborate with application teams to onboard APIs to APIM.

Enterprise Integration

• Design and implement system-to-system integrations using APIs, middleware, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Integrate cloud, on-premises, mobile, SaaS, and GenAI platforms.
• Develop orchestration workflows and integration services.
• Implement synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.

Middleware & Integration Platforms

• Develop integrations using platforms such as:
• Azure Functions/Durable Functions
• Support real-time, batch, and event-driven integrations.

Security & Governance

• Implement:
• OAuth 2.0.
• OpenID Connect (OIDC).
• JWT Authentication.
• Certificate-based Authentication.
• API Security Best Practices.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and audit requirements.
