Job summary

Southpointe Academy is seeking an energetic, positive Behavioural Interventionist to support teachers and leadership in classrooms, co-curricular and athletic programs in South Delta. The role starts as soon as possible and ends on January 31, 2027, with part-time hours from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm when students are in attendance.

The successful candidate will assist with curriculum development, behaviour support, and progress monitoring, while collaborating with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively while following guidance of teachers.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) training.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in development, accommodation, preparation, and implementation of curriculum and materials.
• Supports planning and implementation of individualized or group behaviour programs in various settings.
• Reinforces concepts and implements instructional programs designed by teachers.
• Contributes to behaviour management strategies and monitors reinforcement.
• Maintains regular communication with lead teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Observes and records student progress and maintains detailed records.
• Supervises students on and off campus as required.
• Works with students with cognitive and/or physical challenges, including autism spectrum disorder.
