Job summary
El-Con Construction Inc. is seeking a dynamic HydroVac Operator to support utility construction in Oakville. The role emphasizes safe operation of HydroVac equipment, plans interpretation, accurate work completion, and strong teamwork with supervisors and peers.
You will be responsible for daily documentation, safety checks, and timely communication of progress and any delays on projects. The position requires resilience to outdoor conditions and a collaborative approach.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience on HydroVac Truck.
- Book 7 certification (training provided).
- Ontario Class D driver's license with a clean record; AZ is an asset.
- Interpretation of plans, diagrams, and locates is an asset.
- Knowledge of telecom and fibre optic installation is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Operate HydroVac Truck in a safe and professional manner.
- Interpret plans, diagrams and utility locates.
- Accurate and timely completion of work.
- Adhere to Health and Safety standards.
- Communicate with team and management on prep and project coordination.
- Fill out documentation (daily work orders and tailboards).
- Report delays or issues to Supervisor.
- Conduct daily equipment safety inspections.
- Advise Supervisor when repairs are required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
