Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to support telecommunications, hydro, gas, and water projects in Milton, ON. You will daylight, trench, and dig around utilities with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You should have 2–3 years of Hydro Vac experience, be able to read drawings and locates, hold a valid AZ or DZ license, and work with crews and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results on rugged sites.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Hydro Vac operation experience; Rival HVACs a plus.
• Able to read and interpret design drawings.
• Capable of reading locates and identifying field discrepancies.
• Experience in telecommunications is an asset.
• Must work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents.
• Clear communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, Ontario Infrastructure guidelines and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure Hydro Vac is clean and operating properly
• Complete all required paperwork daily
• Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures by Hydrovac operation
• Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites

Job description

You are a Hydrovac Operator with extensive experience supporting utility maintenance and construction projects. With a strong background in the telecommunications industry, you are proficient in safely daylighting, trenching, and digging around utilities, ensuring precise and efficient work while maintaining strict safety standards. Your expertise allows you to navigate complex sites and handle sensitive utilities with confidence.

Essential Responsibilities

Working Conditions

Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc. Travel to various sites in the surrounding Milton, ON area Working outdoors in various weather conditions)

Compensation

$37.06 - $46.16 per hour This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location. Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
