The Opportunity - Shape Something Different!

As a Hydrotechnical Engineer in our Prairies & North group, you’ll shape the future of water resources engineering across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, northern communities, and remote regions. You’ll lead transformative projects while enjoying comprehensive project ownership, visible technical leadership pathways, a diverse and challenging portfolio, and strong mentorship with real local autonomy. Your expertise will influence high‑profile initiatives across Canada and beyond, while you mentor emerging professionals and help define what success looks like for the future of WSP.

This is your chance to influence climate resilience, protect communities, and drive hydrotechnical innovation across Canada’s most dynamic water systems.

Your Impact
  • Design advanced hydrotechnical solutions that strengthen community resilience, including flood mitigation, hydraulic structures, ice engineering, and watershed systems.
  • Deliver modelling and analysis that informs high‑profile infrastructure, transportation, and mining projects across the Prairies & North.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through full project cycles — from early concepts to construction and client care — ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Advance sustainability by applying environmental and climate‑resilient design principles at every project stage.
  • Grow client relationships, supporting proposals, strategic pursuits, and long‑term partnerships.
  • Mentor emerging engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Champion safety and quality, embedding WSP standards in every deliverable.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • You bring deep experience in hydrotechnical and water resources engineering, gained through hands‑on project delivery across flood protection, hydraulic structures, and watershed systems.
  • You are eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Manitoba and thrive in roles with shared technical leadership.
  • You have strong proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic modelling tools (e.g., HEC‑RAS, MIKE, PCSWMM) and apply data‑driven approaches to complex water challenges.
  • You’re energized by guiding teams, shaping solutions, and contributing to a supportive environment where people grow.
  • You bring a strategic mindset, balancing technical rigour with client needs and long‑term project impacts.
