Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an intermediate Structural Engineer to contribute to hydropower, dam, and renewable energy projects from our Hamilton, Canada office.

You will support senior engineers, perform design calculations, and prepare technical documentation while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Applicants should hold a Canadian PE license and 4–6 years in a consulting setting with strong concrete and steel design background, plus familiarity with CSA codes and

Qualifications

• Degree in structural engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer designation in at least one Canadian province.
• Four to six years of engineering design experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Experience with hydropower, dams, hydraulic and marine structures is a plus.
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools: STAAD.Pro or SAP2000, Mathcad; knowledge of Ansys/Abaqus is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong safety and quality culture in project work.
• Assist senior hydropower and dam structural engineers on various projects.
• Complete structural design calculations, specifications, and documentation.
• Apply standard engineering techniques to civil/structural design tasks.
• Coordinate with designers and drafters on structural drawings.
• Prepare technical reports and meeting minutes.
• Provide field support including site inspections and quality monitoring.
• Manage tasks to meet cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
