Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to support hydropower and dam projects in a collaborative Hamilton employment context. You will assist senior engineers with structural analysis, design calculations, drawings, and technical reports for concrete dams, hydro facilities, marine and related infrastructure.

The role emphasizes applying codes (CSA, NB, ACI 318) and using STAAD.Pro or SAP2000, with field support and project delivery responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in structural engineering from an accredited university.
• Professional Engineer designation in at least one Canadian province.
• Four to six years of engineering design experience.
• Experience with hydropower, dams, hydraulic and marine structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers on hydroelectric projects.
• Perform structural design calculations and prepare drawings.
• Ensure compliance with CSA, S16, A23.1–A23.4 and NB codes.
• Support project delivery, proposals, and field services.
• Prepare technical reports and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with design teams and contractors.
