Job summary

Organigram in Ontario is seeking a Cannabis Extraction Technician to operate and optimize THCA extraction processes, adhere to SOPs, and maintain safe working conditions.

You will handle material packing, operate extraction equipment, support KPI targets, and participate in shift handovers, with focus on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement. This role requires physical fitness and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and readiness to work across shifts.

Qualifications

• Cannabis industry experience is preferred.
• Mechanical inclination is an asset.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety while operating process equipment.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Good communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Basic computer skills, including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to SOPs for operation, QA and HSE.
• Complete material packing and HC extractor operations.
• Operate one method of THCA isolation processes.
• Keep accurate inventory control on processing material and lab supplies.
• Lead KPI discussions for extraction and crystallization and meet daily KPI goals.
• Identify improvements to maximize efficiency, quality and yield while ensuring safety.
• Set up equipment and troubleshoot extraction equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure smooth shift handoffs and 100% accurate batch records.
• Train and sign off new employees or contractors as required.
• Perform sanitation per GPP requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Major Responsibilities

Adhere to all SOPs for the operation, QA and HSE.Ability to complete material packing, HC extractor operations, and, at minimum, able to operate one method of THCA isolation processes.Work safely with hazardous chemicals and cleaning agents being used – ensure to follow all safety procedures on site including donning of all appropriate PPE (respirator, goggles, etc.)Keep accurate inventory control on processing material and lab supplies and notify leadership of order replenishmentActive participation in leading KPI discussion for extraction and crystallization and achieve daily KPI production goals and indicate limitations in processes.Identify improvement opportunities and report issues in order to maximize efficiency, quality and yield while ensuring safety and reliabilityPerform operational tasks such as equipment set up, troubleshooting extraction equipment to minimize downtimeCommunicate effectively with the previous and next shifts to ensure a smooth handoff for continuous productionEnsure timely batch record completion with high accuracyAchieve daily KPI production goals and indicate limitations in processesTrain & Signoff all new employees or contractors as requiredPerform sanitation activities as per GPP requirementsEnsure 100% compliance with QA requirements during day-to-day activitiesTrain & Signoff all new employees or contractors as required.Other duties as assigned
