Position Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Manufacturing Technician performs assigned daily duties for GMP post-harvest manufacturing operations. Focused on regulated, high-quality cannabis processing, you will carry out activities including drying, trimming, milling, extraction preparation, packaging, irradiation, screening, flower evaluation and sorting. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports; coverage will be arranged by another operator during absence.

Key Responsibilities
- - Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure full compliance with Health Canada, EU GMP, and Quality Assurance requirements across all activities
- - Execute post-harvest GACP/GMP processing: drying, trimming, milling, irradiation, screening, flower evaluation & sorting, and packaging
- - Monitor drying processes continuously to preserve product quality; remove product promptly once drying specifications are met
- - Calibrate, operate, clean and maintain all post-harvest processing equipment; support packaging operations as required
- - Deliver daily production targets within agreed timelines; communicate progress, delays or concerns to the Manufacturing Lead immediately
- - Maintain consistent output, minimise downtime, and identify operational bottlenecks or efficiency improvements during shifts
- - Guide agency staff on tasks; ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP standards and safety protocols; **escalate** performance issues to the Manufacturing Lead as needed
- - Complete batch records and all documentation accurately and on time, following Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- - Report any process deviations or concerns promptly to your line manager
- - Support all facility Leads as required
- - Propose improvements to processes, methods or techniques
- - Clean and sanitise all equipment and work areas — processing rooms, tools, trays, storage containers — to required standards
- - Observe and follow all health, safety and hygiene policies
- - Undertake other reasonable duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- - Secondary school diploma or equivalent
- - Strong verbal communication skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- - Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite
- - Able to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
- - Available to work 4 × 10-hour shifts on a rotation: Wednesday–Saturday or Sunday–Wednesday
Preferred
- - Knowledge of cannabis plant biology
- - Experience in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance requirements
- - Understanding of GMP and GACP standards
- - Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- - Hands‑on experience in cannabis drying, processing, packaging or quality assessment
- - Knowledge of building automated systems
- - Previous experience in pharmaceutical, food, or similarly regulated manufacturing
Physical & Work Environment
- - On‑site role at an indoor cannabis production and distribution facility
- - Extended standing/walking for full 10-hour shifts
- - Ability to safely lift and carry up to 25 kg / 55 lbs
- - Repetitive hand/wrist work; regular bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling and reaching overhead
- - Potential exposure to plant matter, dust, pollen, terpenes, cleaning solvents and isopropyl alcohol
- - Required PPE provided: safety glasses, safety footwear, lab coat, hair/beard covers, apron, respirator, protective suits and scrubs as needed
- - Exposure to industrial noise, mechanical equipment and controlled indoor cultivation environments
