Job summary

Northwest Territories Power Corporation in the Northwest Territories invites applications for a role overseeing diesel/hydro plant operations. Under the Manager, Energy South Hydro Plant Operations, you will operate generating units and associated equipment to ensure safe, efficient performance in line with established procedures.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, safety program compliance, reading diagrams and coordinates loads.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED-equivalent or Grade 10 required.
• Red Seal Journeyperson Certification considered asset.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydro sites and diesel gensets to meet system requirements and coordinate loads.
• Perform and assist work orders on generating units and plant equipment; conduct safety inspections.
• Monitor readings, prepare equipment for standby, and log data in CMMS.
• Read blueprints, diagrams and specifications; interpret manufacturer manuals.
