Job description

SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.

Context

As part of a team made up of engineers, technical experts and draughtsmen from other disciplines in the Intercity and Heavy Rail Division, you will be responsible for designing and carrying out projects in the field of hydraulic engineering and infrastructure in the context of rail and road projects carried out by the department, in Canada and internationally.

Missions/Main Duties
  • Work as part of a project team on hydraulic engineering studies and services, as well as on complete project management assignments (preliminary, detailed, etc.).
  • Provide work support for new and rehabilitation infrastructure projects, in Canada and abroad.
  • Contribute to the preparation of hydraulic studies: design and dimensioning studies for hydraulic structures, quantity surveys and financial estimates, drafting of technical notes and notices, preparation of plans, technical reports, etc.
  • Prepare drawings, estimates and technical specifications for tender/construction.
  • Occasionally produce river modeling studies in torrential or fluvial environments.
  • Manage and control the graphic production of plans.
Profile/Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or municipal engineering. Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers.

Years of experience: Between 5 and 10 years' experience in hydraulic and hydrological studies and design.

Technical Competencies
  • Able to design and dimension hydraulic structures, bank and watercourse protection, infrastructure drainage systems, regulation/treatment structures and alternative solutions, hydrology, hydraulics, renovation of existing structures.
  • Knowledge of drawing, calculation and hydraulic modeling software such as AutoCAD, HEC-Ras, HY8, PCSWMM, micro-drainage, or similar.
  • Experience on rail or road projects is an asset.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*.
