Job summary

Seequent seeks a Software Developer, Subsurface Information Management to support design, development, and release of software applications, components, and high-performance platform services and APIs for analytics, data science, BI, and AI workflows for geoscience data.

This role collaborates with the Software Engineering Manager, follows established processes, and contributes to secure, well-engineered solutions. The position is hybrid and requires in-office presence in Toronto two days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years working in relevant Software Development positions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Experience with relational and/or no-SQL data storage mechanisms.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and JSON preferable.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Be able to work under general direction and plan work within short time horizons.

Responsibilities

• Create and document detailed designs for software applications or components.
• Apply modelling techniques, standards, patterns, and tools.
• Contribute to the design of components of larger software systems, including security.
• Validate and review own work and perform peer reviews.
• Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor programs/scripts.
• Apply standards, tools, and basic security practices to achieve a well-engineered result.
• Assist with release management tasks.
• Support data collection for release planning and scheduling.
• Document and maintain records of release activities.
• Participate in testing and QA tasks and issue resolution.
