Job summary

The City of Victoria invites applicants for a Risk Management and Insurance Specialist role. You will lead risk management, oversee the City’s insurance portfolio, manage claims, and support projects, procurement and community events across the organization.

The ideal candidate brings experience in risk management, commercial insurance, and claims administration, along with strong analytical and communication skills, in a collaborative public-sector environment benefiting the community.

Qualifications

• High School graduation.
• Diploma in Business Administration or related field (2 years).
• Canadian Risk Management Certification (3 months).
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Promote risk management and provide advice to all City areas to limit liability and reduce claims.
• Administer the City’s insurance portfolio and review coverage annually to ensure adequacy.
• Coordinate claims administration with the MIA and staff; respond to inquiries from the public.

Education
