Job summary

The Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) seeks a Financial Analyst to join the Finance department. The role supports financial planning, reporting, and the annual budget process, with quarterly analyses and year-end activities.

You will work closely with the Senior Financial Analyst to ensure accurate records, timely reporting, and strong financial controls. This hybrid/remote role is based in Ottawa with some on-site presence as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• CPA designation required.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Workday Financials and Cognos is an asset.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience collaborating with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Prepares financial reports for Senior Management and Council by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information.
• Analyzes financial results, investigates unusual variances, and determines root cause.
• Supports management planning and decision making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluating information.
• Assists with year-end audit and preparation of financial statements.
