Job summary

Freehold Royalties Ltd. in Calgary seeks a Business Development Engineer to support technical and economic evaluations of strategic initiatives. You will evaluate acquisition opportunities, develop bid levels, and present recommendations to executives and the board.

Role requires 5+ years in oil and gas, strong business acumen, and ability to manage priorities within a hybrid work program. Collaboration with Geology, Land, and Finance is essential.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Engineering with 5+ years in oil and gas.
• Experience identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities.
• Strong research skills to analyze incomplete datasets as part of asset evaluations.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams: Geology, Land, Finance, Investor Relations and Management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert to maximize value of the Canadian royalty asset portfolio.
• Evaluate inbound deal proposals and acquisition targets with multidisciplinary teams.
• Create development models and economic analysis to determine bid levels.
• Develop bid recommendations and present to Executive Management and Board.
• Leverage large data sets to identify acquisition opportunities and asset optimization strategies.
• Provide engineering input into reserves evaluation and production forecasts.
