Job summary

The City of Victoria is seeking a Land Development Technologist for a temporary 18‑month assignment in the Engineering & Public Works Department. You will administer engineering reviews for various permits, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure compliance with bylaws and municipal objectives.

The role offers a hybrid, work-from-home arrangement where approved, and requires strong technical analysis, cost estimates, and site inspections to support development projects for the City.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering construction and design.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering codes and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Engineering reviews for Rezoning, Development, Building and Heritage Alteration Permit applications.
• Coordinate and approve Utility and Driveway Permit applications; inspect related construction activities.
• Provide technical input to reports and Council; prepare Master Development Agreement components.
