Intact is seeking a Law Clerk to join our growing Legal team in Canada. The role involves practicing management, drafting pleadings, and handling undertakings, including coordinating with counsel and preparing motion materials.

Qualifications include a college diploma or university degree in a legal program and 3–4 years of Insurance Defence Litigation experience. Proficiency in document management and MS Office is essential, with a strong focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• College diploma and/or university degree in a legal program (Paralegal, Law Clerk, Legal Office Administration).
• Minimum of three to four years of experience in Insurance Defence Litigation, specifically as a Law Clerk.
• Excellent understanding of tort matters.
• Strong document management skills with the ability to learn and utilize various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Practice management.
• Drafting pleadings and application materials.
• Undertakings and chart preparation, correspondence with counsel and drafting motion materials.
• Arranging Independent Examinations and coordinating experts.
• Reviewing productions and preparing lists for discovery.
• Summarizing document productions and medical records.
• Managing production requests and affidavits of records.
• Drafting Letters of Instruction and expert retainer materials.
• Trial/Arbitration preparation.
