Job summary

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian employee-owned firm, is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join its growing finance team in Edmonton. You will ensure accuracy of financial records, support month-end and year-end closes, and provide financial analysis to guide decisions.

The role reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager and offers hybrid work arrangements, competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and ownership in the company.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized educational institution.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and office tools.
  • 3–5 years of related experience in financial accounting.
  • Experience with IFRS practices and standards.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with problem-solving focus.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Complete account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year end close processes.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Prepare and support regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and/or operations.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Support external and internal audit requests.
