Job summary

National Research Council Canada (NRC) is seeking a mid‑career Technical and Policy Advisor on Construction Codes in Ottawa, to support the Construction Research Centre and the Canadian Board for Harmonized Construction Codes (CBHCC). You will advise on policy and codes, coordinate with committees, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Role requires a Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience, knowledge of Canada’s National Model Codes, and the ability to work across federal and provincial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience in housing/building codes, policy, or construction.
• Experience applying codes and standards in building construction.
• Ability to write clearly in English and to communicate orally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to CBHCC and code development committees.
• Liaise with policy advisors, research colleagues and other government partners.
• Summarize findings, prepare background materials, and present results to committees.
