Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Cloud Database Administrator to design, build, automate, and support cloud database services across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments from our Scarborough location. You will modernize enterprise database platforms and contribute to AI-enabled solutions, with on-call responsibilities as part of the role.

The role requires 3–5 years of DBA experience, strong SQL Server and cloud services knowledge, automation experience, and the ability to collaborate across IT

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hands-on DBA experience with MS SQL Server and cloud databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure database services.
• Experience with automation, scripting and IaC/ CaC.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Strong communication and SDLC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, deploy, and support cloud database platforms.
• Modernize environments across AWS, Azure, and on-premises.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Monitor health, capacity, availability, and cost.
• Troubleshoot incidents and drive timely resolutions.
• Maintain backup, recovery, high availability, and DR practices.
• Apply security, governance, and compliance practices.
• Collaborate with application teams and operations partners.
• Respond to 24x7 on-call as needed.
