Job summary

Allstate Canada Group seeks an Associate Trial Lawyer to join the Claims Litigation Team. You will manage files from inception to resolution, drafting pleadings and coordinating with senior attorneys on complex matters.

The role emphasizes growth in insurance defence, personal injury, and regulatory compliance within a hybrid work setting. The ideal candidate holds a Law Degree and Ontario Bar membership with 2+ years in a similar insurance defence role.

Qualifications

Must have a Law Degree and be a member of the Law Society of Ontario in good standing.
2+ years experience in a similar role with an Insurance Defence firm - Personal Injury & Accident Benefit experience is an asset.
Excellent drafting, analytical, research and communication skills; ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

Review new file assignments and draft initial pleadings.
Prepare for and attend case conferences, questionings, mediations, pre-trials and trials.
Perform due diligence; gather facts and collaborate with clients, paralegals and other lawyers.
Research and apply relevant laws, regulations, and case law; identify issues.
Provide advice on company documents, policies, and procedures; obtain approvals.
Draft and review routine correspondence and communications; respond to claims inquiries.
