Open Farm is seeking an Accounting Specialist in Toronto to manage daily bookkeeping, AP/AR, reconciliations, and vendor invoicing within a collaborative team. You will support month-end close, credit reviews, and maintain organized records in a fast-growing CPG environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and problem-solving, with hybrid work in-office two days per week. CPA pursuit is valued, NetSuite experience a bonus, and benefits include healthcare and RRSP matching.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in a similar accounting role or 1–2 years plus a university degree in Accounting.
• Excellent soft skills and the ability to work with teammates, vendors and customers.
• Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals and proficiency in Excel/Outlook.
• Pursuing CPA is an asset; experience with NetSuite or another ERP is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting tasks including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries and bank reconciliations.
• Review customer credit memo requests tied to trade spend activity.
• Process vendor invoices by matching to purchase orders and coding expenses.
• Complete new customer credit applications and monitor the credit of key partners.
• Review and process employee expense reports.
• Manage customer invoicing via EDI and process invoices as needed.
• Monitor A/R and A/P balances and send customer statements.
• Oversee banking and payments, including templates and wires.
• Keep company files organized and backed up.
• Support month-end close and year-end audit preparation.
• Take on ad hoc reconciliations and analysis as needed.
