Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. in Canada seeks an HVAC Technician 2 to deliver portable HVAC equipment, install and train customers on safe operation, and perform service calls.

You will check in, repair, and test equipment, and assist with shop duties while maintaining accurate records and responding to emergencies on a rotating schedule. The role requires 3–5 years of HVAC experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work after hours and weekends during peak times.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of formal HVAC experience/training.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• HVAC Certificate preferred (state-licensed ability to work on refrigeration systems).
• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Able to work some after hours and weekend work during peak times.

Responsibilities

• Communicates professionally with customers, managers and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups and service calls.
• Delivers and installs rented HVAC equipment; trains authorized operator on safe use of equipment.
• Directs customers to sign appropriate paperwork; keeps track of serial numbers.
• Troubleshoots operation, function, and controls of rental equipment.
• Operates company vehicle safely and follows safety policies.
• Cleans and tests returned equipment; maintains operation and appearance.
• Completes paperwork for deliveries, pickups and service calls.
• Installs flexible gas hose on propane and natural gas applications.
• Checks gas connections safely and properly.
• Keeps records of in-stock and rented equipment; works with managers and sales engineers.
• On-call for emergency service; rotating schedule for evenings and weekends.
