Job summary

Garthside Ltd. is hiring an experienced HVAC mechanic in Ontario to install, overhaul and service heating, ventilation and refrigeration systems. This full-time position requires at least five years of field experience, on-site work, and a valid driver’s license.

You will interpret blueprints, install and test systems, troubleshoot issues and provide customer service to clients at their sites. Applicants should have an other trades certificate or diploma and be willing to relocate if necessary.

Qualifications

• Five years or more experience in HVAC mechanics.
• On-site work only; no remote work.

Responsibilities

• Install and overhaul heating systems
• Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems
• Interpret blueprints or other instructions to plan methods or sequences of operation
• Measure and lay out reference points for installation
• Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements
• Troubleshoot heating systems
• Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
• Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
• Coach and instruct apprentices
• Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
• Provide customer service
• Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
• Perform maintenance such as recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
• Handle, recover and store refrigerants
• Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
