Job summary

Air Wise Sales Inc. in Hamilton, ON is seeking an HVAC Designer/Detailer to design models for custom air handler units and create component drawings, collaborating with assembly, purchasing, electrical, and refrigeration teams to meet customer needs.

You will analyze project requirements, apply SolidWorks (sheetmetal and weldments), and contribute to quality and efficiency while growing with a supportive team in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in mechanical, design or manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (Sheetmetal and Weldments).
  • Familiarity with sheet metal gauges, sheet sizes, and sheet metal bending.
  • Proficiency in sheet metal assembly design and drawings.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC components.
  • Experience in Air Handling Unit design is preferred.
  • Strong 3D visualization for unit design.
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and with little supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create drawings for all components of the unit
  • Communicate effectively with Assembly team to provide instructions
  • Communicate with Purchasing team to order parts and materials
  • Communicate with Electrical team on panel sizing and specifications for unit components
  • Communicate with Refrigeration team on plumbing requirements (e.g., condensers, compressors)
  • Responsible for promoting teamwork and good company morale, mentoring and knowledge sharing with teammates
  • Conduct yourself with the highest ethical standards
