Job summary

JobsMedia.io in Sherbrooke, QC seeks an experienced technician to support mechanical inspections and prepare design drawings within a consulting engineering setting.

You will assist with cost estimates, layouts, and specifications, coordinating with engineers, architects, and contractors while ensuring adherence to building codes. Fluency in English or French is required; 40-hour work weeks and on-site collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• College diploma (1–2 years) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience in related field.
• Fluent in English or French per posting.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects.
• Assist in preparing design, drawings and specifications.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Prepare and interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes to cost estimates.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
