Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $40,193 to $67,726, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Terms and conditions pursuant to the Collective Agreement between the Cranbrook and Fernie Teachers' Association and School District No. 5 (Southeast Kootenay).

Job Summary:

Humanities Teacher, Grades 8-9

0.571 FTE temporary contract, starting October 2, 2026 or upon completion of the posting process to November 30, 2026, or return of the incumbent.

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience at the Intermediate level.

Must have a degree/formal training and or teaching experience in Humanities.

This position is scheduled to include 2 blocks of Social Studies 8 and 2 blocks of Social Studies 9. Please note that all work will be on site.

Please note: Continuing teachers will need to vacate their continuing assignment in order to accept a temporary assignment, unless the FTE is greater in the temporary job posting.
