Job summary

Darling International Canada Inc. seeks an HRIS Analyst to serve as the primary administrator of the Canadian HRIS. You will drive system stability, perform audits to safeguard data integrity, and troubleshoot issues for HR, IT, and vendors.

  • Experience with Oracle HCM or similar tier-1 system is highly desirable.

  • Lead projects for new HRIS modules or integrations and author admin guides.
  • Create training guides, job aids, and training videos for users.

Job Description

The HRIS Analyst acts as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Darling Canada’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This individual is responsible for ensuring system stability, maintaining maximum data integrity through audits, and providing rapid troubleshooting support. Acting as a key link between HR, IT, and 3 rd party external vendors, the HRIS Analyst will play a key role in new system module implementations, system updates, and process-automation projects. Additionally, this role is highly focused on user enablement, which includes building comprehensive training guides for end users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regularly enters, reviews and approves HCM workflows related to employee life-cycle events (e.g. status changes, job changes, wage increases, leaves of absence, terminations).
  • Process bulk data into HRIS system via HDL Load using advance excel functions such as macro.
  • Act as primary point of contact for HRIS related inquiries, delivering initial troubleshooting and guidance to support timely and effective resolution of system and process concerns for field-based employees.
  • Evaluate, and test quarterly system updates, patches, and new feature rollouts to ensure zero disruption to business operations.
  • Conduct routine and targeted audits to ensure information accuracy within the HCM employee database. Verify that all relevant employee data is captured, maintained, and reconciled seamlessly across multiple system areas (such as Time & Attendance and Payroll).
  • Ensure HRIS data flows accurately and seamlessly across multiple systems via interface. Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and troubleshoot errors by doing root cause analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and generate standard and ad-hoc reports, metrics, and surveys (including provincial compliance reporting, wage surveys, and headcounts) to provide actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Maintain accurate organizational charts, seniority lists (crucial for local workforce planning and bargaining unit tracking), and other critical operational data.
  • Serve as the functional lead or key project team member for new HRIS module rollouts, system migrations, or third-party integration projects.
  • Author and maintain exhaustive system administration guides, business process definitions, and configuration logs.
  • Build clear, highly visual training guides, job aids, and quick-reference videos for managers, HR business partners, and general employees.
  • Deliver virtual or in-person system training workshops to onboard new employees and walk system users through major feature updates.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Human Resources processes through information systems changes and by enabling new functionalities.
  • Collaborate closely with the HRIS Applications team (IT) and key stakeholders to identify and resolve systemic data integrity issues, and to design and implement process improvements and training initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
  • Completion of Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.
  • 2-3 Years progressive experience working within an HRIS environment, including responsibility of processing and approving workflows, performing HRIS data management and conducting systemic audits.
  • Experience with Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) or similar tier-1 Enterprise HCM system is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis and investigative/resolving database or integration issues.
  • Proven track record of maintaining pristine data quality. Demonstrated ability to catch and resolve minor errors, perform repetitive data audits with high focus, and maintain a high standard of work quality under tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Programs, with strong capability in Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of integrity when dealing with extremely sensitive, confidential employee data
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to explain complex technical logic in plain language for non-technical users.
Physical Requirments And Working Condtions
  • Work is performed in standard Office environment.
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a standard office setting
  • Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time;
  • Occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate (up to 20 pounds) amounts of weight.
  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer.
  • Ability to communicate to exchange information.
