Job summary

Remote People Ltd. in Scarborough, ON, invites a hands-on Lead HR to shape and execute our broad HR program in a high‑performance manufacturing environment.

You will guide employee relations, recruitment, safety, planning, compliance, and HR ops while leading a small HR team with direct visibility to the VP of Operations. You will influence HR strategy and workforce growth, partnering with plant leadership to balance strategic priorities with day‑to‑day execution, in a non‑union setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation (or actively pursuing)
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or production environment experience
  • Previous leadership or team management experience
  • Strong employee relations background
  • Full-cycle recruitment experience
  • Knowledge of ESA, OHSA, AODA, and Ontario Human Rights Code
  • Experience with HRIS systems and HR reporting

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the HR team.
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee relations matters.
  • Conduct investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and performance management activities.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee programs.
  • Support employee engagement and culture initiatives.
  • Advise leaders and managers on HR best practices and employment legislation.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across skilled trades, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and leadership positions.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and external recruiting partnerships.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Manage offer negotiations, compensation benchmarking, and recruitment metrics.
  • Build talent pipelines for future growth.
  • Support workplace health and safety programs.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning.
  • Manage WSIB claims and return-to-work programs.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Support health and safety committee initiatives.
  • Oversee HRIS and employee data management.
  • Manage compensation and benefits administration.
  • Support training and leadership development programs.
  • Track HR metrics and provide reporting to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement across HR processes and systems

This is an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional to lead a broad HR function within a dynamic, non-unionized manufacturing environment.

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you'll oversee employee relations, talent acquisition, health & safety, workforce planning, compliance, and HR operations while leading a small HR team and helping shape the future of the organization.

What We're Looking For
