The successful candidate will act as a primary business partner for the aggregate and construction divisions, ensuring that people strategies align with large-scale production goals. You will oversee the full employee lifecycle, from high level talent management and succession planning to day-to-day labor relations and performance coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage labor relations, including grievance handling and contributing to collective bargaining strategies.
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts and coordinate comprehensive onboarding and training programs.
  • Facilitate the annual performance review cycle and development planning.
  • Administer compensation programs, including merit increases and job evaluations.
  • Provide data driven insights through HR metrics to improve business processes.
  • Champion a rigorous safety culture, ensuring all environmental and health protocols are followed across all sites.
Candidate Profile
  • You must hold a Bachelor Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner is required.
  • You must have a background that combines HR expertise with direct operational exposure, ideally within a unionized environment.
  • Professional designation such as CPHR is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and office suites like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40 percent of the time to various regional sites.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in organizational development and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with an understanding of complex organizational dynamics.
  • Compliance with safety standards, including being clean shaven for respirator fit testing when required.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary ranging from 115,000 to 135,000 dollars per year.
  • Performance bonus potential reaching up to 36 percent of base pay.
  • Comprehensive medical and dental coverage for employees and dependents.
  • Robust pension plan and access to voluntary savings programs like RRSP and TFSA.
  • Support for mental health and well being through family assistance programs.
  • Professional development opportunities, including tuition assistance and career growth pathways.
