The Human Resources Manager provides human resources consultation and support to a designated business unit to define and execute HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR related inquiries across the region.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on labour and employee relations concerns.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and ensure fair & consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Develop strong relationships with employee representatives / works councils / shop committee to ensure effective resolution of labour relations concerns.
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations and company policies,
- Support the recruitment of both hourly and salaried hires across Canada
- Overseeing the onboarding process for new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee records & HR databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Participate in various Employee Committees to include but not limited to Engagement and Joint Health and Safety, Duty to Accommodate etc.
- Participate in operational audits (ISO, Financial etc.) and support Worksafe claims management for the operations.
- Support and mentor Human Resources team across Canada (BC and Ontario) as well as serve as coach/mentor to operational leaders in relation to Human Resources practices.
- Participate in Bargaining and support escalated legal complaints (Arbitrations, Tribunals etc.)
- Lead training and learning initiative implementation at site level.
- Ensure compliance training conducted, and records maintained.
- Participate in global projects and their implementation across the USA and Canada.
- Support HR initiatives within HR cycle. (Talent Review, Compensation, Succession Planning etc.)

- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program and minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2 years of supervisory or management experience, required
- Strong background in Labour Relations and Employee relations required
