NLG - Next Level Group in Charlottetown, PEI, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead a broad HR agenda and support our people-focused growth. You will partner with the VP of HR and mentor an HR Coordinator while shaping programs that align with organizational priorities.

The role covers recruitment, employee relations, learning and development, payroll coordination and HR reporting, with opportunities to make an impact across multiple HR functions in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • Several years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience managing recruitment and employee relations.
  • Experience with an HRIS.
  • Leadership or people-management experience is a plus.
  • CPHR designation or progress toward a CPHR is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the VP of HR on short- and long-term HR initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Lead annual performance and compensation review processes.
  • Support compensation and total rewards planning, including market analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, programs and training initiatives.
  • Support employee recognition and other strategic HR projects.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment from job postings through interviews, offers and background checks.
  • Partner with leaders to understand hiring needs and provide effective recruitment support.
  • Help ensure new employees have a positive and well-organized onboarding experience.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters.
  • Lead employee relations investigations and recommend fair, practical solutions.
  • Manage offboarding activities, including exit interviews and termination processes.
  • Develop and coordinate employee engagement initiatives and company events.
  • Coordinate employee surveys and help turn feedback into meaningful action.
  • Identify and coordinate learning and development opportunities.
  • Support employee growth and leadership development initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver HR-related training as required.
  • Oversee employee records and ensure HR documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage HRIS updates and provide oversight of transactions completed by the HR Coordinator.
  • Partner with Finance to support bi-weekly payroll preparation.
  • Prepare HR reports and analyze workforce data, including turnover reporting.
  • Support year-end HRIS processes and maintain position profiles.
  • Develop employee communications and provide support on a variety of HR projects.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and development to the HR Coordinator.
  • Partner with the VP of HR on performance planning, feedback and evaluations.
  • Provide support across the HR function as required.

We’re currently recruiting for a Human Resources Manager to join a well-established organization with a collaborative team and a strong commitment to its people.

This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys both the strategic and hands-on sides of HR. Working closely with the VP of Human Resources, you’ll play an important role in supporting employees and leaders while helping develop and implement HR programs that support the organization’s continued growth.

You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a broad range of HR functions, while also providing leadership to an HR Coordinator.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, organized, solutions-focused and comfortable wearing many hats.

You’ll ideally bring:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.

  • Experience working with an HRIS.
  • Leadership or people-management experience is an asset.

  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional work-related travel.
  • Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check.
