Reporting to the Manager, HR & LR Business Partner, this role serves as a strategic advisor, ensuring alignment of HR and labor relations functions with the company's business objectives. The role involves managing and enhancing the relationship between the organization and its workforce.

What you will be responsible for :

Human Resources Partnership

  • Offer subject matter expertise in Human Resources and Labour Relations services.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on HR and LR matters.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with management to deliver HR programs aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with internal clients to integrate talent programs into strategic plans.
  • Seek value-add opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Utilize business intelligence for data-driven decision-making.
  • Implement talent management strategies to improve retention and employee experience.
  • Deliver talent programs, including Continuing Education and leadership development.
  • Support performance management, employee relations, and HR compliance.
  • Assist in developing compensation and benefits strategies.
  • Oversee employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain HR administrative records and services.

Labour Relations Partnership

  • Act as lead representative for union relationships and transactions.
  • Support management on union and performance issues.
  • Manage relationships with union representatives and internal clients.
  • Provide advice on performance and behavior issues.
  • Support negotiations of supplementary agreements.
  • Interpret and apply collective agreements.
  • Prepare for bargaining and research.
  • Handle grievances and prepare for arbitrations.
  • Maintain knowledge of unionized workforces and collective bargaining.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and support attendance management.
  • Employee Communication and Support

  • Respond to employee inquiries within 48 hours.
  • Provide guidance and investigate concerns.
  • Record Keeping and Communication

  • Update employee files as needed.
  • Respond to stakeholder requests promptly.

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of HR / LR advisory experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Minimum 1 year in unionized environments.
  • Leadership and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR / UKG).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • High confidentiality and tactfulness.
  • Where / When you will be working :

  • Office environment.
  • Monday to Friday, 8 : 30 am to 5 : 00 pm, or as needed.
