Job description

We are Nors. We are driven by progress: yours and ours. We work to make everything work better every day. We deliver the services, solutions, and equipment needed to make your life and business more successful.

You’ll love working here…

As the Human Resources Generalist, in collaboration with the HR Team, you play an integral role in supporting the attraction, growth, development, retention, and motivation of Nors employees. You provide administrative, process, and systems support to maximize service delivery to internal customer groups. The preferred location of work is Vernon, B.C.

What’s in it for you…

Nors Construction Canada GW is a growing business in an exciting industry. We enjoy the support, resources, and opportunities of being part of an international family-owned company with the feel of a small business. This is a full-time, permanent position. We offer a competitive compensation package, including full health and dental benefits, plus a company-sponsored RRSP plan. Our Head Office is in beautiful Vernon, B.C., in the heart of the North Okanagan Valley, surrounded by lakes, golf courses, orchards, wineries, and a world-class nordic and downhill ski resort.

Success looks like this…

  • "Service First". It’s our company slogan, and you are driven to support external and internal customers with exceptional solutions. You recognize that you have a direct impact on employee engagement, satisfaction, and success at work.
  • Character. Leading by example, you are self-motivated with a strong work ethic. You lead from a position of servitude, and integrity is the cornerstone of your actions. You are a solution-driven team player willing to participate and advocate for change.
  • Critical Thinking. You gather and examine information to make confident, objective decisions relevant to business and employee issues.
  • Communicator. Concise communication with employees, management, and third parties is essential. You can build and maintain relationships across locations and demonstrate good judgment when coaching managers on people challenges, proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Experience and Knowledge. You are a highly skilled HR Generalist with progressive experience in recruiting, selection, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and union relationships. Experience with SuccessFactors is an asset. You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, and a CPHR designation would be advantageous.
  • Computer Skills. You need strong proficiency with software and Microsoft Office to create and maintain meaningful, timely business reports.
  • Collaborative. As part of our international HR team and Canadian executive team, you leverage problem-solving skills and business acumen to build trust and respect among company leaders and staff.
  • Organized. You have developed personal systems to manage deadlines and critical tasks such as apprentice programs, compensation changes, and probation periods.

**Position duties also include completing any additional tasks or projects as requested.**

How to Apply…

Our online application process allows you to present yourself as a complete person, not just a resume. The assessment will evaluate your qualifications, personality traits, and workplace preferences and should take 10 to 15 minutes. After submitting, you will receive an email with your assessment results.

We review all applications, and it is important that you complete the entire application, including the assessment, to receive priority consideration. We look forward to hearing from you.
