Job summary

Johnson Controls/Silent-Aire in Canada seeks an HR Generalist to deliver core HR services to employees and managers in a manufacturing setting, ensuring policy compliance, safety, and engagement aligned with company procedures.

You will partner with local management, handle performance issues and inquiries, conduct investigations, support recruitment for hourly roles, and assist with HRIS systems like HR Atlas, Workday, and SharePoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
• 3+ years of Human Resources experience with at least 1+ years in a manufacturing or related environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop effective working relationships with local management and employees to influence and coach on employment practices.
• Assist local management on employment matters including performance management issues and inquiries or complaints.
• Conduct investigations and recommend actions to resolve policy violations with risk management input when needed.
• Stay current on employment laws and Company policies.
• Maintain positive working relationships with employees and management.
• Conduct hourly recruitment for open positions following established process.
• Provide training and support for HR systems (HR Atlas, Workday, SharePoint).
• Assist with Payroll and Benefits Administration.
• Serve as Empowered People champion for the plant.
• Provide input for process/policy improvement.

The HR Generalist will be responsible for the local delivery and execution of core HR services to employees and managers in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations. You will perform a variety of employment related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with Company policies in a manufacturing facility.

How You Will Do It

• Develop effective working relationships with local management and employees in order to influence and coach them on effective employment practices.
• Assist local management on various employment matters including Performance Management issues, employee inquiries or complaints, as well as the implementation of company-wide HR activities.
• Conduct investigations and recommend actions to effectively resolve policy violations. Seeks counsel from HR Leader or Legal as necessary to ensure proper risk management.
• Stay current on employment laws and Company policies.
• Maintain positive working relationships with employees and the management team.
• Conduct hourly recruitment for open positions following established process.
• Provide training and support for various HR systems including HR Atlas (JCI’s online employee portal and shared service system), Workday, Share point, Performance Management, and other others.
• Assist with Payroll and Benefits Administration.
• Serves as the Empowered People champion for the plant.
• Provides input for process/policy improvement.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
• 3+ years of Human Resources experience with at least 1+ years in a manufacturing or related environment.

Preferred

• CPHR certified or in process of pursuing CPHR.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$95,000 CAN (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
