Employment Opportunity – Human Resources Generalist

Kendall County is seeking an organized and team-oriented Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join its Human Resources Department. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the HR Generalist will have the opportunity to assist in developing and implementing HR initiatives that support Kendall County and its growing workforce.

Essential Functions:

The successful candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality support across all HR operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, duties outlined in the detailed job description.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree and at least two (2) years of HR experience required.
  • Preferred areas of study/experience include public administration, risk management, compliance, and HR.
  • Prior payroll experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Tyler Munis ERP or other HRIS software is preferred.
  • SHRM or other HR certifications are preferred.
  • Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Work Schedule:
  • Full-time position.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional attendance at County Board meetings outside regular hours may be required.

This position is based on-site in Yorkville, Illinois.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $58,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications.
  • Approximately 13 paid holidays annually, approved by the County Board.
  • Paid vacation: 6.25 hours per month, accruing immediately and increasing with tenure.
  • 12 paid personal/sick days per year.
