They are known for their culture of support, effective processes, and holistic approach to patient care. Each day, their efforts are geared toward making the right to family accessible to everyone. By doing what they love, sharing what they learn, and celebrating success, they encourage each other to achieve and grow, and they are role models for their community.

About the Role:

As the Director of Human Resources, you will be the standalone HR leader, responsible for driving all human resource functions while playing a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the company culture. This is a 5 day onsite role, based in North York. As this is a clinic environment, you will be required to be in office (parking is paid for by the employer). You excel in a high-growth environment, wear many hats, and work across various HR domains including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and process improvement. You’ll take the current HR processes and procedures to the next level by streamlining and enhancing efficiency, making sure team members have the best possible work experience. You thrive when presented with a blank slate and can roll up your sleeves when needed. You will be accountable for designing, developing, and leading activities of talent and culture within the organization, amplifying the organization’s mission and ensuring legal compliance. This role requires approximately 10 years of related experience and a readiness to take ownership of a company’s end-to-end human resources (talent & culture) function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Champion a high-performing environment, implementing strategies that attract, retain, reward, develop, motivate, and empower talent by fostering a trusted, positive, and inclusive work environment.
  • Create, distribute, and analyze employee surveys to gather feedback and inform engagement strategies.
  • Implement effective orientation, onboarding, off-boarding, training, leadership, and development programs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous feedback and professional growth.
  • Oversee implementation strategies for productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Manage internal communication strategies to keep the team engaged and informed.
  • Develop standardized employee documentation, including offer letters, job descriptions/postings, employment contracts, and other required employee documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee risk and ensure a safe working environment including Health and Safety.
  • Apply and interpret employment and labor law to manage company HR risk.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and manuals are up to date on legislative requirements.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to Management in the areas of legal and procedural compliance, workplace policies, employee relations, and problem prevention.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources experience including holding leadership roles, preferably in a growth environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  • You will have strong business acumen, and be able to show return for investment from a people programs perspective
  • You don't need hand holding! This is a fully autonomous role, you are responsible for everything in HR!
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • High level of emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Be a strategic thinker and be able to find outside-the-box solutions.
