Nova Scotia Power is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR Operations team in a full-time role. Reporting to the Manager, HR Operations, you'll collaborate with employees and leaders to deliver value-added services that drive our business forward.

  • Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Customer Focus: Exhibit a customer-centric mindset
  • Leadership Support: Coach, challenge, and support leaders at all levels to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Policy Guidance: Offer interpretation and guidance on HR policies, legislation, and collective agreements.
  • Employee Support: Assist with employee issues and provide investigation support as needed.
  • HR Initiatives: Lead the planning, delivery, and facilitation of key HR initiatives.

These Skills Will Make You Successful

  • Education: Degree in Business, HR, or a related field with
  • Experience: 5+ years in an HR generalist, specialist, or recruitment role; unionized experience is a plus.
  • Certifications: CPHR (as asset).
  • Critical Thinking: Analytical skills with a focus on collaboration and achieving 'win-win' outcomes.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Facilitation Skills: Ability to facilitate training sessions and meetings effectively.
  • Labour Relations Expertise: Knowledge and experience in labor relations and workplace investigations
