Job Title: Human Resources Assistant

Under the general supervision of and responsible to the Regional Manager, the Human Resources Assistant is committed to the vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities of Prairie Mountain Health within their role. The Human Resources Assistant is a vital team member of the Human Resources Team, responsible for providing administrative, organizational, and clerical support primarily to the Occupational Health and Workplace Safety and Health areas. The role also involves engaging in activities to promote and enhance programs and participating in opportunities for growth and advancement within the Human Resources portfolio. The Human Resources Assistant operates in a confidential capacity concerning labour relations.

Responsibilities
  1. Overview
    • Supports both the Occupational Health and Workplace Safety and Health programs for Prairie Mountain Health.
    • Provides reception services for the applicable program/facility, responding to inquiries or requests from PMH staff in person, by telephone, or electronically.
    • Offers general administrative and clerical support to the programs, including receiving and sorting correspondence, maintaining and ordering supplies, and preparing communications as needed.
    • Provides administrative support to the Workplace Safety & Health and Occupational Health programs, supporting project work.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with Prairie Mountain Health policy.
    • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth.
    • Participates in staff development programs.
  2. Occupational Health
    • Responsible for reviewing and maintaining Occupational Health information related to employees.
    • Maintains and organizes Occupational Health files by entering data into databases and compiling/distributing reports and charts as required.
    • Schedules clinics and staff appointments, ensuring appropriate documentation is in place.
  3. Workplace Safety & Health
    • May conduct fit testing for applicable site and regional program employees as defined by the Prairie Mountain Health Fit Testing program.
    • Completes data entry and runs reports related to fit testing records.
    • Maintains communication with managers to keep fit testing current and arranges testing as needed.
    • Travel to sites within the region may be required occasionally.
