Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations/HRBP, you will maintain HR data in the HRIS, manage correspondence, and help ensure compliance with labour laws. This temporary full-time role runs about ten months with daytime shifts.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Business Administration, HR, or related discipline.
  • 2 years in Human Resources, or 3 years in lieu of formal education.
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements, Employee Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and AODA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Labour Relations operations including sick leave tracking, union reports, and grievances deadlines.
  • Prepare communications, data entry, filing, and calendar management for the LR team.
  • Enter, update and retrieve data in the HRIS and other sources to maintain datasets.
  • Triage employee queries and provide backup HR Helpdesk support.
  • Perform other LR-related duties as assigned.

$32.14/hr(Minimum)to $38.95/hr (Maximum)

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Manager, Labour Relations/HRBP, the HR Assistant- Labour Relations supports the human resources department by handling duties including but not limited to administrative and clerical tasks related to employee relations, union negotiations, and compliance with labour laws, aiding in the effective management of labor policies and procedures. The incumbent will also act as a support resource providing coverage at the HR Helpdesk to facilitate the smooth operation of the HR department

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support in the effective operations of the Labour Relations function of the Hospital, including but not limited to sick leave tracking, generating Union reports, and tracking grievances deadlines, preparation of employee letters, taking minutes at meetings, and generating & analyzing data driven reports for the LR team.
  • Perform administrative duties such as preparing specialized & mass distribution communication, data entry, filing, record management (electronic and paper), as well as calendar management for the LR team.
  • Enter, update and retrieve employee data from the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and other sources to create and maintain datasets.
  • Support the management of shared email inboxes, triaging employee queries, concerns, and requests; respond where appropriate and direct employees and management to the appropriate team member in a professional manner.
  • Provide backup support to the HR Helpdesk
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Diploma, or Certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources, or in related discipline.
  • 2 years in Human Resources OR In lieu of formal education, 3 years in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements, the Employee Standard Act, Human Rights Code, and Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
PREFERRED:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or in related discipline
  • Certified Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRP)
