Based at the head office in Calgary Seton with travel to locations as required; requires post-secondary HR education and 5+ years HR experience, CPHR asset. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or related field.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience.
• CPHR designation is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards Code.

Position Status: Regular, Full-time (1.0 FTE)

EFW Radiology is currently seeking a Human Resources Advisor to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional patient care!

The Role:

The Human Resources (HR) Advisor provides expert HR guidance and consultative support to employees and leaders across a broad range of HR functions. The role serves as a trusted advisor with a focus on employee relations, performance management, organizational policies and employment practices, accommodations, and return-to-work planning. The role promotes consistent and timely HR practices, supports informed decision-making, and contributes to a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.

Reporting to: This position directly reports to the Manager of Human Resources.

Role Overview:

Employee Relations and HR Operations

• Builds strong working relationships with supervisors, managers, and employees.
• Acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on employee relations matters, workplace concerns, organizational policies, and applicable employment legislation.
• Supports leaders in applying EFW’s performance management practices and policies to foster accountability, employee growth, high-performing teams, and positive workplace environments.
• Provides coaching, consultation, and support to leaders and employees on workplace matters, contributing to positive employee experiences, effective working relationships, and organizational success.
• Leads or supports workplace investigations in accordance with organizational policies and practices, promoting fair, consistent, and timely resolution of workplace concerns.
• Identifies trends, emerging issues, and opportunities to enhance employee relations practices, leadership. effectiveness, and workplace culture.
• Contributes to the planning, development and implementation of HR programs, projects and initiatives.
• Provides support and backup to other HR team members and contributes to effective delivery of HR services.

Employee Wellness, Accommodations, and Leave Management

• Provides guidance and consultation to employees and leaders regarding employee wellness, workplace accommodations, leaves of absence, and return-to-work practices.
• Leads the assessment, coordination, and management of complex disability, medical leave, and workplace accommodation matters in collaboration with employees, leaders, insurers, and other parties.
• Reviews accommodation requests and return-to-work plans to determine appropriate workplace accommodations and recommendations.
• Provides advice and support to leaders on attendance-related matters, employee wellness concerns, and workplace accommodation responsibilities.
• Identifies risks, trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement within leave, accommodation, and attendance management practices.
• Ensures leave, accommodation, and attendance management practices are administered in accordance with organizational policies, and applicable legislation.
• Supports organizational health and safety programs including JHSC and incident response and investigation as required.
• Undertakes other duties as assigned.

You have the following:

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management; or a business-related field is required;
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience is required
• CPHR designation is an asset
• Comprehensive knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards Code and HR principles and best practices
• High level of integrity with the ability to keep confidential information secure
• Ability to build strong relationships, coach/consult, and mediate conflict
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently as well as member of the team
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deal with confidential information
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Attention to detail with the ability to identify problem areas proactively
• Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Desire to continually upgrade skills, knowledge, and abilities in the Human Resource profession
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Professional attitude in all interactions with employees, supervisors, managers, and directors
• Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.

Working Conditions

• Able to spend prolonged periods at a desk utilizing a computer and monitor and performing other close visual work as required (sitting, handling, touching, finger dexterity).
• This position is based at our Head Office located in Seton (Calgary SE) but requires the ability to travel to any EFW location and provide own transportation as required.
