Job summary

Horseshoe Resort in Barrie, Ontario, is seeking team members for the Golf Maintenance Crew. This seasonal, daytime-weekday position supports keeping greens, fairways, and bunkers in pristine condition and coordinating irrigation and landscaping tasks.

Ideal candidates have prior golf course maintenance or landscaping experience and are prepared to work outdoors in various weather, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, and maintain turf on greens, fairways, tees, and rough areas using mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
• Assist in installation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation system.
• Monitor irrigation schedules; adjust sprinklers and perform repairs.
• Rake and maintain sand bunkers; replenish sand and maintain surface quality.
• Plant, water, and maintain trees, shrubs, and landscape features around the course.
• Operate and maintain golf course maintenance equipment; perform routine checks and storage after use.

Position Status: Seasonal; Daytime Weekday Shifts

Wage Range : $17.60 - $19.00/hour

Position Summary

As part of the Golf Maintenance Crew, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our golf course. Working closely with the Golf Course Maintenance Manager and maintenance team, you will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the course is in pristine condition for our guests. This position is primarily daytime hours during the week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Mow, edge, and maintain turf on greens, fairways, tees, and rough areas using specialized equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers

Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system.

Monitor irrigation schedules, adjust sprinkler heads, and perform repairs to ensure proper watering of turf and landscape

Rake and maintain sand bunkers, ensuring consistent depth and smooth surfaces for play.

Repair bunker edges, remove debris, and replenish sand as needed to maintain aesthetic appeal and playability

Plant, water, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape features around the golf course.

Prune trees and shrubs, remove invasive vegetation, and perform general landscaping duties to enhance the visual appeal of the course

Operate and maintain various golf course maintenance equipment, including tractors, utility vehicles, and hand tools.

Conduct routine maintenance checks, perform minor repairs, and ensure equipment is clean and properly stored after use

Qualifications:

Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred.

Knowledge of turfgrass management practices, irrigation systems, and landscaping techniques.

Ability to operate and maintain a variety of landscaping equipment and tools.

Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards of course presentation.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks requiring bending, lifting, and carrying.

Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
