Andritz Canada – Hydro Division is offering a winter internship within its Health & Safety & Environment teams for hydroelectric projects, including projects of small, medium, and high complexity.

This internship will allow you to apply your academic knowledge within a leading company in the hydroelectric field. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects, collaborating with seasoned experts.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Construction Safety Regulations.
  • Excellent problem solving with root-cause analysis and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly HSE meetings or bulletins.
  • Support the implementation and update of the health, safety, and environmental plan and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing project HSE documentation (safe work procedures, activity risk assessments, job plans).
  • Help gather HSE training modules and certifications.
  • Coordinate health, safety, and environmental aspects of office or facility activities.
  • Suggest immediate correction of HSE deficiencies and verify effectiveness of corrections.
  • Collaborate with HSE leadership for updates on the HSE Management System.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly HSE Meetings or Bulletins;
  • Provides assistance in the implementation and update of the health, safety, and environmental plan and associated procedures;
  • Provides assistance in the preparation of project HSE documentations (through safe work procedure, Activity Risk Assessment, Job plans);
  • Support in the gathering of all HSE training modules and certifications;
  • Supports the coordination of health, safety, and environmental aspects of office or facility activities;
  • Proposes immediate correction of HSE deficiency; checks if HSE corrections from deficiency are effective;
  • Collaborate with HSE Operations Manager or HSE Coordinator for business update on HSE Management System.

  • Student enrolled in bachelor’s degree in in Health and Safety or equivalent;
  • Passion for Quality and integrity;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel);
  • Knowledge of Construction Safety Regulations
  • Strong communication skills (spoken & written) at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent problem solving skills (root cause analysis expertise), sound judgment, initiative & creativity
