Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental programs on construction sites in Canada. You will drive compliance with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, lead audits, and coordinate safety training and toolbox talks.

The role requires at least 3 years in HSE on construction sites, knowledge of provincial safety legislation, and strong communication skills to liaise with regulators, unions, and site teams. Travel and flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE management on a construction site or heavy industries.
• University degree in Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Provincial Construction Safety legislation.
• Experience in dealing with unionized environments.
• Experience on construction sites; hydro power plant experience is an asset.
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fulfillment of HSE requirements at construction sites per plans and regulations.
• Support Site Manager with HSE management and safety instruction implementation.
• Act as liaison with customer HSE and provincial regulatory agencies.
• Prepare weekly and monthly HSE statistics reports.
• Assist with health, safety and environmental plan updates.
• Record and investigate accidents and incidents and perform root cause analysis.
