About the workplace

As an HRIS Consultant, you’ll optimize & support the design and development of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS), specifically our payroll and time and attendance system, to meet the strategic and operational needs of Vancity. In this role, you’ll partner with business leaders to analyze HR processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and implement best practices that elevate our HR technology solutions.

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to work on-site at least once a week.

A typical day would involve:

  • Collaborates with People & Culture, IT, and business leaders to assess needs, identify HRIS enhancements, and implement system solutions.
  • Analyze and optimize payroll and time workflows to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Designs, develops, and implements HR technology solutions that improve efficiency and enhance the user experience.
  • Oversees system maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless HRIS functionality.
  • Develops and delivers HR reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensures HR reporting capabilities align with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and business intelligence needs.
  • Provides system support and training to HR teams and business users, ensuring effective adoption of HRIS tools.
  • Documents system workflows, policies, and best practices, ensuring consistency and ease of use for HRIS users.
  • Acts as a liaison between HR, IT, and other business units to facilitate smooth HR system operations and integrations.
  • Diagnoses and resolves HRIS-related issues, escalating complex problems to IT or vendor support as needed.
  • Support broader HRIS activities and workforce analytics as needed.
  • Monitors system performance and proactively identifies potential issues, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HRIS administration, system implementation, or HR technology support.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, in particular UKG Pro and UKG Pro Workforce Management (Dimensions) is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, time tracking, scheduling, and compliance in a Canadian context (multi-union experience is an asset).
  • Experience with HR data reporting, dashboards, and analytics (Power Query, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus).
  • Strong data analysis skills, with proficiency in Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with HR compliance standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess business needs and recommend technology solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with HR, IT, and business leaders.

The salary range for this role is $81,200 to $122,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
