Job description

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Recruiter/Coordinator will perform HR related functions in the following functional areas: full cycle recruitment, on-boarding, induction, employee relations, training, benefits, health and safety, or other administration tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct full cycle recruitment process including posting, sourcing, screening candidates, testing, reference checks, and placement for a wide range of positions within a mandated deadline.
  2. Recruit quality active and passive candidates by sourcing, maintaining candidate pipelines, pursuing referrals, and developing meaningful contacts.
  3. Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  4. Execute daily recruiting activities, such as contacting qualified potential candidates through phone screening and setting up first and second in-person interviews.
  5. Identify technically qualified candidates based on capability and fit within the organizational culture.
  6. Ensure the most effective advertising channels are utilized. Monitor advertising performance and adjust spends as required to meet the monthly advertising budget.
  7. Close organizational competency gaps through effective advertising, cold calling, and other recruiting methods.
  8. Coach managers and provide tools for attracting highly qualified and diverse talent from internal and external sources.
  9. Create recruiting procedures to be implemented in the SEI system.
  10. Partner with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  11. Receive all employee questions or needs and respond timely or work with the HR team for feedback.
  12. Assist in monitoring the performance appraisal process.
  13. Conduct new employee orientation training.
  14. Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from the database.
  15. Maintain employee personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  16. Help maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
  17. Organize company events such as barbeques and service awards.
  18. Distribute company gifts, uniform vouchers, and other perks or PPEs to employees as required.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Human Resources.
  2. 2-5 years of progressive working experience as a recruiter in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  3. Working knowledge of ATS/Social Media posting is an asset.
  4. Knowledge of US employment laws is an asset.
  5. Ability to work autonomously.
  6. Self-starter and energetic with initiative, professionalism, and sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment.
  8. Proficient with MS Office Suite, HRIS, and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  9. Ability to be self-managing, show a commitment to a task, and have a strong work ethic.
  10. Excellent attention to detail, communication, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
  11. Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning.
  12. Ability to work in a demanding fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines.
