About Us

GFL is one of the largest diversified environmental services company in North America, providing comprehensive solid waste management services from its platform of facilities throughout Canada and 18 U.S. states. Recognized by our signature fleet of bright green trucks and equipment, we offer a wide range of environmental and industrial services to businesses, communities and households, providing a consolidated and sophisticated approach to meeting our customers’ needs. We believe that, by providing safe, accessible and cost-effective solutions, we encourage greater environmental responsibility and allow our customers and the communities we serve to be Green For Life.

The Role

The HR Project Manager works closely with HR and Integration leadership to define, structure, and implement HR operational improvements across North America. These enhancements span organizational processes, system architectures, enabling technologies, and data-driven insights to align HR capabilities with broader business objectives and deliver measurable value.

  • Systems & Data Integration: Collaborate with Payroll, IT, Information Security, and third-party vendors to seamlessly integrate new tools and solutions with core HRIS, timekeeping, and payroll engines.
  • Change Management & Adoption: Formulate and execute end-to-end change management strategies—including stakeholder impact assessments, communication planning, field training programs, and executive buy-in—to drive high adoption among frontline staff, recruiters, and hiring managers.
  • Compliance & Legal Governance: Partner with Legal and Compliance teams to assess operational risk, ensure data privacy, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and provincial labor and wage regulations.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage external technology partners and coordinate with internal executive sponsors to ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Process Optimization: Map and refine recruitment pipelines and payroll workflows to streamline candidate engagement and enhance employee financial flexibility.
  • Risk Management & Reporting: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure project health, post-launch adoption rates, and maintain executive status dashboards.
