Job summary

Cape Breton University is seeking an HR Coordinator to support LearnCorp International (LCI) and the CBU HR team. You will handle HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, policy development, and employee experience initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leaders and employees, maintaining confidential records, generating HR reports, and supporting projects within a dynamic, service-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma and/or degree in Business Administration or Human Resources.
• Minimum of two years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
• Experience coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities.
• Experience with HRIS platforms; Dayforce experience is a strong asset.
• CPHR designation, or progress toward designation, is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR administration principles.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR coordination contact for assigned LearnCorp International leaders and employees.
• Coordinate recruitment processes from workforce planning through onboarding for assigned portfolios.
• Prepare and post job advertisements using appropriate recruitment channels.
• Assist with developing candidate screening tools, interview guides, evaluation materials, and recruitment documentation.
• Coordinate onboarding programs and resources for new employees; ensure orientation and system access.
• Maintain employee information within HR systems, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
• Generate reports and perform data analysis to support decision-making.
• Support HR leadership with employee relations matters and HR projects as assigned.
