Qualifications

Join to apply for the HR Generalist (12-18 month contract) role at Genes MDPI

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic HR Generalist to join our MDPI Toronto office. This role reports directly to the HR Manager Europe & North America and is crucial in supporting the office's growth and HR operations, including onboarding, recruitment, employee records, communication, and more.

Tasks & Responsibilities
  1. Recruitment: Manage end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, sourcing, interviews, and onboarding. Work with hiring managers to meet staffing needs.
  2. Employee Relations: Act as the primary contact for HR policies, procedures, and benefits. Address employee concerns effectively.
  3. Compliance: Ensure adherence to local labor laws and regulations. Keep updated on employment legislation.
  4. Performance Management: Support development and implementation of performance reviews and employee growth plans.
  5. HR Administration: Maintain employee records, prepare reports, and oversee benefits administration.
  6. Training and Development: Identify training needs and coordinate programs to enhance skills and promote continuous learning.
  7. HR Projects: Participate in regional HR initiatives, aligning local practices with global strategies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s in HR, Business Administration, or related.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in HR Generalist roles, especially in stand-alone capacities.
  • Knowledge: Canadian labor laws, HR best practices, payroll familiarity.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, proficiency in HR systems and MS Office.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, proactive, discreet handling of confidential info, problem-solving skills.
  • Certification: CHRP or CHRL preferred but not required.
